Next incubation program of the “Skills for the Future” project has been presented.
The Innovation Center of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted the “New Horizons, Great Opportunities” event.
The event, organized within the framework of the “Skills for the Future” project, was attended by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency, Erkam Tuzgen, Director of Turkey’s “BilişimVadisi”, project mentors, startup teams, representatives of various public and private institutions, and other guests.
A presentation was made on the work carried out within the “Skills for the Future” project and its current progress. Afterwards, a video clip about a program to be broadcast via ASAN TV, aimed to introduce startup projects and attract investors was shown. The presentation of a six-month incubation program jointly implemented with "Bilişim vadisi” was also demonstrated.
At the initial stage, 30 teams were selected out of 47 registered for the incubation program. In the second stage, based on the evaluation of the jury appointed by the “Innovation Center” and Bilişim Vadisi (Informatics Valley),” 10 teams earned the right to participate in the 6 month incubation program.
The purpose of the "Skills for the Future" project is to enhance the personnel potential in the field of innovation and support innovation activities. İt also aims to support students in developing innovative ideas and direct them toward discoveries and inventions that play an important role in the technological development of our country.
The project encompasses a "Mentorship Program" for training university teachers as mentors, and two "Incubation Programs" for students to form startups from their ideas with the participation of mentors.
In total, more than 2000 students presented 181 startup ideas to the project. With the support of over 130 teachers trained as mentors in universities, 98 startup teams were formed. At the official closing event of the project, 19 startup teams formed through the incubation programs presented their projects, and 3 teams evaluated by the jury were awarded accordingly.
