“ASAN Service” Hosts Seminar titled “Azerbaijan-Korea Public Services”
On September 5, 2024, a seminar titled "Azerbaijan-Korea Public Services and Social Innovations" was held.
The event was organized jointly by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
Opening remarks were delivered by Jeyhun Salmanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency; Hwang Young-kyung, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Azerbaijan; and Park Byung-joon, Director at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea.
Jeyhun Salmanov underscored the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding established in 2016 between the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea and the State Agency, highlighting the fruitful cooperation that has developed since then. He also pointed out the State Agency’s proactive involvement in technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives supported by the Republic of Korea, expressing appreciation for the continuous support from the Korean side.
The Korean delegation noted the importance of the “ASAN Service” model in the sphere of public service delivery and expressed satisfaction with the current level of partnership with the State Agency.
The Head of the International Relations Department of the State Agency delivered a presentation on the “ASAN Service” model and the innovative projects implemented by the agency.
Subsequently, department heads from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea provided comprehensive reports on contemporary methods of public service delivery, ensuring citizen satisfaction, and their nation’s experiences in improving service accessibility.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
While in Azerbaijan, the Korean delegation took the opportunity to learn about the workings of the "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center, the "ABAD" Public Legal Entity, the "Bilim Baku" center, and the "ASAN" mobile service.
Additionally, specialized presentations were conducted for the delegation members by the State Agency’s Public Service Design and Innovation Department and the "Innovations Center" LLC.
